Glenn Sloat
Glenn Sloat is the Founder and Chief Executive of Silver Mountain Group. Prior to founding Silver Mountain Group, Mr. Sloat was a Principal and the Director of Operational Due Diligence at Robeco-Sage, a multi-billion dollar fund of hedge funds. While at Robeco-Sage, Mr. Sloat personally designed, implemented and managed an institutional-quality due diligence process that represented family offices, insurance companies, public pension funds, commercial banks, endowments and foundations.
Mr. Sloat has a long track record of successful due diligence and has personally conducted hundreds of operational due diligence engagements at many of the world’s largest and most sophisticated alternative money managers. Mr. Sloat is an operational expert and an authority on due diligence with over 20 years of hands-on experience performing due diligence, managing securities operations and designing operational controls at many of the industry’s leading firms.
Mr. Sloat has a comprehensive understanding of fund accounting, valuation, global custody, operational controls, securities processing, OTC derivatives, securities lending, compliance, money transfer, business contingency planning and systems analysis/design. Mr. Sloat is an internationally-recognized expert and a speaker on operational due diligence.
From 1999-2006, Mr. Sloat was employed in the Worldwide Securities Services group at JPMorgan Chase as a global client relationship manager working on business development and implementation for complex institutional clients. Mr. Sloat was accountable for the service delivery of global custody, daily and monthly fund accounting, securities lending, derivatives collateral management, performance measurement, compliance monitoring and cash management. Mr. Sloat also managed a team of outsourced buy-side operations professionals, working on-site in the offices of a franchise client for several years. Prior to JPMorgan, Mr. Sloat was the Director of Custodian Bank Operations at BlackRock, overseeing trade settlement, cash management and custody banking relationships for all of BlackRock’s fixed income and money market accounts. Mr. Sloat was a Senior Consultant in Arthur Andersen’s Banking and Capital Markets group, specializing in business redesigning mission-critical processes for global financial institutions. From 1990-1995, Mr. Sloat was employed at Bankers Trust Company, performing a variety of roles including software analysis and design, business process re-engineering, operations management and global trade settlement. Mr. Sloat also served ultra-high net worth investors as an Assistant Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Sloat earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Albany and an MBA in Finance and Information Systems with a co-major in International Business from New York University. Mr. Sloat graduated with honors from both institutions.
